Bray Jazz Festival returns for it's 18th year on the upcoming May Bank Holiday weekend, April 28th, 29th and 30th April next.
The festival enjoys a reputation for showcasing contemporary musical improvisers from both at home and abroad. This year will be no exception.
While Bray Jazz is 'boutique' in scale, we are proud to have hosted some of the very finest creators and composers working in contemporary music today.
This being the centenary of jazz, we'll be announcing a plan of activities to mark this auspicious landmark as the event approaches.
Billed as "one of the very best small jazz festivals in Europe" (All About Jazz) and as "the connoisseur's jazz festival" (The Irish Times), our event was also described last year as "a little gem" by The Sunday Independent's Arts Editor. It is a billing that we hope to again live up to, in 2016.
We are grateful for the continuing support that we receive from our sponsors - The Arts Council of Ireland, the local authorities of Wicklow and Bray, and to Failte Ireland, amongst others, and are grateful too for the support we receive each year from the concert goers who come out and support us each year. Without all of these components the festival could not happen.
And thanks also to the many service providers, technicians, hoteliers, bar owners, drivers, ground crew and of course musicians - who make Bray Jazz happen every year.
